Susan Brady brings a rich diversity of experience and knowledge to the healthcare profession.
After graduating from the University of Southern California in 1989 with a Master of Physical Therapy, she began working outpatient physical therapy treating individuals with a wide variety of muscle and skeletal disorders. Here, Susan began to take note of the increasing number of pharmaceutical medications being prescribed to patients, yet they continued to suffer with unrelenting aches and pains and lingering recovery.
Although it quickly became apparent that patients engaged in eating a nutritious diet and following a healthy lifestyle experienced a more rapid and complete recovery, it wasn’t until Susan witnessed the remission of rheumatoid arthritis in a patient who choose to follow a natural approach to her disease that she truly began to understand the power that the body has to heal itself when properly nourished.
Realizing the importance of combining a nutrient rich diet, nourishing lifestyle and healing modalities, in 2003 Susan began to pursue her Doctor of Integrative Medicine at Capital University of Integrative Medicine. This program educated her in a variety of alternative treatments and therapies as well as the importance of evaluating a person as a whole, considering all aspects of one’s health and well-being. This is when Susan became passionate about nutrition, believing it to be the true foundation for optimal health and healing.
Susan continued her studies in nutrition and obtained a degree as a Certified Nutritionist from the American Health Science University in 2006 and then a Post Master’s Certificate in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2014. Susan is also a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
With her strong background in nutrition and musculoskeletal disorders, Susan has focused her practice for the last several years on osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and other conditions impacting healthy aging.
She believes that optimizing gut health, controlling inflammation, reducing stress, and achieving adequate exercise and healing sleep are the most effective ways to enhance your overall health and wellbeing. Her goal is to help you live your healthiest and most vibrant life possible.
Susan finds joy in life by taking long walks in the woods with her dog, hiking and sailing with family and friends and paddle boarding.
